漢字從哪裡開始？ Where should we start?

漢字從什麼時候開始出現的？這個答案是很久、很久之前，

Hàn zì cóng shenme shíhòu kāishǐ chūxiàn de ？zhè gè dáàn shì hěn jiǔ 、hěn jiǔ zhīqián ，

我們甚至沒有足夠的資料來說明漢字的起源。

wǒ men shènzhì méi yǒu zúgòu de zīliào lái shuōmíng hànzì de qǐyuán 。

 Chinese characters can be traced to a time when people made records in their daily life by tying knots in ropes or strings. 

而文字發明以前，那時候的中國人在繩子上打結， 

Er wénzì fāmíng yǐ qián ，nà shí hòu de zhōngguó rén zài shéngzǐ shàng dǎ jié ，

好記錄他們每天的生活。 

hǎo jì ù tāmen měitiān de shēnghuó 。

The most accepted legend is that the inventor of Chinese writing was a minister named Ts’ang Chieh, who recorded the history in the court of Emperor Huang Ti, the first king of China.

那漢字到底怎麼出現的呢？最多人接受的說法是，

Ｎà hànzì dàodǐ zěnme chūxiàn de ne ？ Zuì duō rén jiēshòu de shuō fǎ shì ，

由中國第一個王——黃帝的史官：倉頡發明的。

yóu zhōng guó dì yī gè wáng ——huáng dì de shǐ guān ：cāng jié fā míng de 。

Legend has it that he had four eyes and four pupils, and that when he invented the characters, the deities and ghosts cried and the sky rained millet.

傳說中，倉頡有「雙瞳四目」，  

Chuán shuō zhōng ，cāng jié yǒu 「shuāng tóng sì mù 」， 

他發明文字那天晚上，鬼神哭泣，天上下“米粟”。

Tā fā míng wén zì nà tiān wǎn shàng ，guǐ shén kū qì ，tiān shàng xià “mǐ sù ”。

 神奇不神奇呢？  

Shén qí bù shén qí ne ？
